EARLY VOTING STARTS: MONDAY, OCTOBER 19, 2026
Taxpayers are being asked to commit $700 million in public funds toward a $1+ Billion arena benefiting a privately owned NHL franchise — While decades of economic studies show residents may NOT ever see the benefit.
No public money for private profits
4 REASONS TO VOTE AGAINST PROPOSITION A
Every new dollar made in the Arena District for 40+ years stays in the District
Increases taxes for EVERYONE on:
ALL rental vehicles
ALL short-term rentals
Plano taxpayers take on $700 million in loans to support building a taxpayer-funded arena to benefit a billionaire-owned, for-profit hockey team ... until a new city offers them more cash & they move to another city, leaving YOU – Plano taxpayers picking up the tab.
Unknown millions $$$$$ in real costs:
Cost to support future increase in Police Force, Fire, EMS
Cost to build roads, sewer, provide power & infrastructure
Cost to maintain, upgrade the arena
NONE OF IT BUDGETED leaving us to pick up the tab, again!
Every new dollar the Arena District makes for the next 40+ years gets funneled back into this Arena District, bankrolling a billionaire’s arena. Not a single cent reaches your citywide roads, parks, schools, public safety or other vital services.
